[OSEN – Reporter Jang Woo-young] Ahead of its premiere, Heartbeat stars Ok Taec-yeon, Won Ji-an, Park Kang-hyun, and Yoon So-hee shared key viewing points for the upcoming drama.
Set to premiere on June 26 at 9:45 p.m. on KBS2, the new Monday–Tuesday drama Heartbeat (written by Kim Ha-na & Jung Seung-joo; directed by Lee Hyun-seok & Lee Min-soo; produced by WEMAD and Monster Union) tells the thrilling “life-on-the-line” cohabitation romance between Seon Woo-hyul—a half-human, half-vampire who fails to become human by just one day of his 100-year chance—and Joo In-hae, a woman completely devoid of warmth. The two end up living together by accident, embarking on a journey to discover true human warmth.
Ok Taec-yeon, who plays half-vampire Seon Woo-hyul, said,
“I hope viewers enjoy watching Woo-hyul struggle and fight his way through all the challenges involved in becoming human.”
He added,
“I believe audiences will be able to relate to the kinds of ‘human qualities’ Woo-hyul gradually discovers along the way.”
Won Ji-an, who takes on the role of Joo In-hae, a coldhearted temporary school health teacher and guesthouse owner, shared her thoughts:
“We put a lot of effort into delicately portraying the process of falling in love—the process of your heart beginning to beat.
I hope viewers enjoy watching In-hae’s confusion and gradual transformation as she experiences new emotions.”
Actor Park Kang-hyun, starring as Shin Do-sik, a refined and considerate real estate developer and CEO of the company “Refresh,” noted the tension within the love triangle:
“As a romance drama, the subtle rivalry between Woo-hyul and Do-sik over one woman is fun to watch, but Do-sik’s growing obsession with Woo-hyul is another key point. Please look forward to whether Do-sik will win the hearts of both Woo-hyul and In-hae.”
Yoon So-hee, who plays Na Hae-won, a glamorous, wealthy real estate investor, commented:
“Since Woo-hyul is a vampire, many unexpected events unfold. Watching other vampires adapt to modern society also adds a fun element. How Hae-won, Do-sik, and In-hae get entangled in Woo-hyul’s journey toward love will definitely keep viewers curious for more.”
With perfect casting, strong performances, and undeniable passion from the entire team, KBS2’s new Monday–Tuesday drama Heartbeat is set to captivate viewers when it premieres on the 26th at 9:45 p.m.
