MBC’s hit drama The Red Sleeve has been honored with the Excellence Award at the 2022 Korea Communications Commission (KCC) Broadcasting Awards.
The KCC held the 2022 Broadcasting Awards ceremony on June 20 at the Lotte Hotel in Sogong-dong, Seoul.
Launched in 2009 and celebrating its 14th year, the KCC Broadcasting Awards recognize outstanding programs produced and aired in Korea during the previous year, as well as individuals and organizations that have contributed to the advancement of Korea’s broadcasting culture. A total of 238 works produced and broadcast in 2021 were submitted for consideration, and after preliminary and final evaluations by the judging committee, 15 finalists were selected.
The Red Sleeve (MBC), which received the top honor, has gained immense popularity both domestically and internationally, being exported to broadcasters and OTT platforms across Asia—including Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam, and India—as well as North America, Europe, and the Middle East, further showcasing the global appeal of K-content.
